Several organisations use booklists to support families, librarians, teachers and others in identifying suitable books.
All readers bring their own circumstances to the interpretation of a story. One title can evoke quite different responses in different readers. With picture books, that interpretation can be influenced by the style of illustration too. It is almost impossible to annotate recommended lists in a way that suits everyone or even to present the story line in a way that meets all needs.
The In The Picture team aim to highlight details of books that are considered to be good examples of new work arising since the project started. The aim, as with the entire project, is to inspire and inform writers, illustrators and publishers everywhere. Click here to see details of these books.
There are other sources, much more geared up to create booklists that you can visit from these pages. Contact us if you have a booklist we should be adding to this list of lists!
