The following pages contain interviews given to the In The Picture project and putting forward a particular perspective on the work of the project and/or personal experiences of putting disabled children in the picture.

Authors and illustrators

Quentin Blake - perhaps this country's leading illustrator - best known for his work with Roald Dahl is a key supporter of In The Picture. Read a transcript of his interview about In The Picture on the Radio 4 programme "You and Yours".

Joyce Dunbar - Joyce has written over 70 books for children and is on the In The Picture steering group. Read her comments about In The Picture that formed part of the "Just One More Book!" podcast

Michael Foreman - eminent author and illustrator of many children's books including Seal Surfer.

Richard Johnson - well known illustrator of many children's books and creator of one of the In The Picture inclusive posters.

Moira Munro - author and illustrator of many children's books including the "Hamish the Bear" series.

Jane Ray - internationally acclaimed illustrator Jane Ray has illustrated numerous award winning books over the last 20 years.

Tony Ross - well known illustrator of over 350 books for children Tony discusses one of his more recent projects "Through the Catflap" by Ian Whybrow which features a child with cerebral palsy.

Jeanne Willis - internationally acclaimed author and illustrator of  over 80 best selling books for children including Susan Laughs.

Dame Jacqueline Wilson - Dame Jacqueline Wilson OBE began writing for children in 1973 and has since written over 50 books for children selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Read a transcript of her speech at the In The Picture "Picture this!" event in April 2008.

Beth Cox - Beth works for Child's Play [International] Ltd. who have included incidental images of disabled children in many of their publications.

Booksellers

Rachael Burnett - Rachael is an illustrator with recent experience of selling children's books in a major retailers. Read her views on the importance of books which include disabled children.

Librarians

Carole Wolstenholme - Carole is a librarian in Lancashire, her work towards the development of inclusive library services led to her being awarded the National Public Servant Award for Social Inclusion.
