What's The Story?

This illustration is from the story "It's Raining! It's Pouring! We're Exploring!" a new book written by Polly Peters, illustrated by Jess Stockham and published by Child's Play International Ltd.

1 in 10 children has asthma in the UK and very few story books show children either carrying or using their inhalers.

In this illustration you can see a child using her asthma inhaler as the children enjoy some physical play. Throughout the book the girl is shown wearing a pouch around her waist [you can see the pouch in this picture] to hold her inhaler. Some children, especially the very young use clear plastic spacers to inhale the medication more effectively.
