What's The Story? This is one of three illustrations donated to the In The Picture project by Quentin Blake. It shows a happy and independent young girl who happens to be wearing leg splints. The splints - also called orthotics - are made of plastic, individually moulded and placed next to the skin. They are often jointed under the foot and have velcro and leather straps. The plastic can be made available in all kinds of designs and colours to suit the child. You can see other illustrations of splints in our image bank. |
