What's The Story?

This photograph shows a method of communicating with a disabled child known as "objects of reference".

The plastic bag contains items that the child can recognise and link to certain activities. In this case it contains a nappy, a cup and a flannel which symbolise the times to have a nappy change, a drink and a wash.
